dc.description.abstract	The objectof the research is gender variability of speech, the subject–modal means which men and women resort to in everyday communication. The theoretical valueconsists in the contribution to the development of thenotion ‘variabilitymodality’ in the genderdiscourse; introduction of various features of modality use by men and women; implementation of different means of expressingmodality in everyday conversation.The practical valueis proved by the possibility to the use findings of thepaper in teaching courses of theoretical grammar, optional courses ‘gender 66variability of modality’, ‘differences in men’s and women’s speech’,‘the modalityfeatures’,‘contrastive linguistics’ in the methodology of teaching native and foreignlanguages during the teaching of reading and interpretation of different texts withrespect to the realization of modality	en_US
