dc.description.abstract	The aim of the study is to identify the naming units creating images of enemies in the inaugural speeches of American presidents. The object of the study is the inaugural speeches of American presidents of the 20th and 21st centuries. The subject of this study is the verbal images of enemies in the speeches of American presidents of the 20th and 21st centuries. Methods of the study include: induction and deduction; definitional and componential analysis; contextual analysis; theory of conceptual metaphor. Material of the study is based on 27 inaugurals by US presidents, from the address by President Wilson in 1913 to the speech of incumbent President Trump in 2017.	en_US
