Abstract

Research on topic «The category of gender and means of its realization in Modern English and Ukrainian» is devoted to the analysis of one the main categories of the noun, gender, and ways of its expression in modern English and Ukrainian languages. Course paper is comprised of introduction, two chapters, general conclusions, literature cited and list of illustration materials.The first chapter «Theoretical basis of research of category of gender in Modern English and Ukrainian in contrastive aspect» («Теоретичні засади дослідження категорії роду в сучасних англійській та українській мовах в зіставному аспекті») is aimed at pinning down theoretical points of the grammar system of contrasted languages and characteristics of the category of gender itself.The second chapter «Means of realization of category of gender in Modern English and Ukrainian» («Засоби реалізації категорії роду в сучасних англійській та українській мовах») is practical research. Analysis of means of realization of category of gender as well as comparison of isomorphic and allomorphic aspects of contrasted languages is represented in this chapter with the help of illustration materials in English and Ukrainian.
