Інтонаційні засоби вираження позитивних емоцій в англійському мовленні: зіставний аспект

Abstract

This term paper is devoted to the study of common and distinctive features of expressing positive emotions in English and Ukrainian speech. The research paper formulates theoretical prerequisites for the study, summarises the definition of intonation, and considers existing classifications of positive emotions. The classification of emotions proposed in the paper made it possible to analyse and systematise expressions of positive emotions selected from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975). On the basis of the conducted auditory analysis, the article reveals common and distinctive features of expressing positive emotions in English and Ukrainian speech.
