Abstract

The research on the topic «The representation of the cultural component in Modern English» is devoted to the analysis of means of the cultural manifestation in the English language. The course paper encompasses introduction, two chapters, conclusions to each chapter, general conclusions, literature cited and list of illustration materials.The first chapter «Теоретичні засади дослідження репрезентації культурного компоненту в мові» («Theoretical footing to the study of representation of the cultural component in the language») comprises the theoretical part of the research. It deals with the notion of culture and various methods of its definition, outlines the close interconnection between culture and language as the main subject of linguoculturology, focuses on the linguistic world picture and its expression in the cultural component. The second chapter «Репрезентація культурного компоненту в сучасній англійській мові» («Representation of the cultural component in Modern English») focuses on the practical part of the study. The chapter presents the analysis of verbal and non-verbal means of manifestation of cultural component in Modern English done on the basis of illustrative material taken from the Modern English literary texts.
