Abstract:
The purpose of the thesis is to consider modern populism as a political and cultural phenomenon of modern world politics.In accordance with this goal the following tasks are set:-to definethe concept of "discourse" and "political discourse" in modern linguistic research;-to identifypopulism as a product of political communication;-to analyzemodern political and cultural codes that determine the «rating» of populist politicians in the realities of modern politics;-to identifypopulism in Western Europe in the late 20th and early 21st centuries;-to researchpopulism in political discourse of the US;-to find outtheoretical principles and problems of studying the phenomenon of populism in Ukraine.The object of research is populism in political discourse.
