Abstract

The main aimof the Diploma Paper is to detect, study,and systematizethesituations when speech interruptions occurin everyday communication and to evaluate them. To achieve the aim, the following objectivesshould be fulfilled:•to study a concept and essenceof interruptionsin modern linguistics;•to identify and differentiatethe notions of competitive and cooperative interruptions;•to developa classificationofinterruption reasons;•to study gender aspect on the interruptions in dialogues;•to investigate factors influencing recognition of interrupted speechin Modern English dialogical discourse;•to evaluate the role of the interruptions in conversations
