Abstract:
The aim of the investigation is to study the verbal depiction of human qualia from a cognitive linguistic perspective in modern English narrative discourse.
The structure of the work is determined by its purpose and objectives. Compositionally, the paper consists of the introduction, two chapters, conclusions to each chapter and general conclusions to the whole paper, the list of references, the list of the illustrative material and Appendices. The Introduction identifies the relevance of the paper, the purpose and objectives of the Master’s Thesis the object and subject of study, the main research methods, theoretical and practical value of the work. Chapter One clarifies the concept of human qualia, the scientific approaches and methods of the study of human qualia as an emotion experience in English prosaic texts from a cognitive linguistic perspective. Chapter Two presents the system of human qualia in modern English narrative discourse, as well as the results of the analysis of the linguistic means of creating a verbal depiction of human qualia from the piece of modern English narrative discourse (on the lexical, stylistic and syntactic levels). The paper is crowned with the suggestion of other perspectives of research in the area.
