Abstract:
Research on the topic "Speech manipulation in Modern English discourse: nominative and pragmatic aspects" is devoted to the analysis of the means of speech manipulation in the English language. The term paper consists of an introduction, three chapters, general conclusions, a list of references and a list of illustrative sources. The first chapter "Theoretical basis for the analysis of speech manipulation" ("Теоретична база до аналізу мовленнєвої маніпуляції") is theoretical. It examines the main theories of speech acts, reveals the concept of manipulation as a phenomenon and means of speech manipulation and its main features. The second chapter "The nominative aspect of speech manipulation in modern English discourse" ("Номінативний аспект мовленнєвої маніпуляції в
сучасному англомовному дискурсі") is a practical study. It presents an analysis of the peculiarities of the expression of speech manipulation in the English language on the basis of illustrative material selected from English-language artistic works. The lexical-grammatical, syntactic and stylistic aspects of speech manipulation are studied.
