Abstract

This term paper focuses on research of the linguistic aspects of emotion personifications in the modern English cartoon “Inside Out”. Through a comparative analysis of the emotions in the cartoon and the scientifically defined ones and generalization, this term paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the personified emotions. The coursework is divided into several sections that cover the basics of personification of emotions, including the types of emotions and personification techniques. The coursework then moves on to a comparative analysis the emotions in the cartoon and the scientifically defined ones and the pragmatic effect of personification on the audience of “Inside Out”.
