Abstract

The purpose of the coursework is to reveal the specifics of the perception of truth and lies by Ukrainians, Englishmen, and Americans. The object of the study is the perception of truth and lies in Ukrainian culture compared to English-speaking cultures, in particular, ways of revealing the truth, attitudes to honesty, moral norms and attitudes to lies, as well as the influence of cultural, historical and social aspects on this perception. The subject of the study is the ethno-cultural specificity of the perception of truth and lies in the Ukrainian and English languages. The perception of truth and falsehood is highly dependent on cultural, historical and social context. The study of theoretical sources allowed us to understand the variety of ideas about these concepts and their influence on the behavior and interaction of representatives of different cultural groups. The perception of truth and lies in Ukrainian and English-speaking cultures differs significantly due to differences in cultural and social contexts. Ukrainians are more inclined to a moral-ethical approach, while English-speaking countries have a more objective perception, focused on facts and context.
