Abstract

The purpose of the study: to investigate the means of expressing modality in artistic texts. The set goal presupposes solving the following tasks: − consider the theoretical aspects of the essence of the modality category; − clarify the concept of modality; classification - compare means of expressing modality in English and Ukrainian languages.
