Abstract:
Our master’s thesis concerns investigation of etiquette formulas and cliche in the diplomatic discourse in the translation-related aspect.
In modern linguistics, etiquette formulas of politeness are studied both in social spheres of communication and outside the culture of communication: S. Bogdan, O. Malyuga, Ya. Radevych-Vynnytsky, M. Stelmakhovich, L. Sakharchuk, E. Chak, I. Shevchenko, etc. However, the issue of etiquette in general and, in particular, the problem of linguistic ethics and ethical forms of politeness continues to worry linguists.
A review of scientific literature on the test question, namely: etiquette formulas and cliche in the diplomatic discourse in the translation-related aspect (P. Brown, O. Dontcheva-Navratilova, F. King, G. Yule, G. Leech and others) makes it possible to argue that in modern linguistics and translation studies this problem is not given enough attention.
The topicality of the work is determined by the general focus of modern linguistic and translation studies research to identify the features of etiquette formulas and cliche in the diplomatic discourse in the translation-related aspect.
The aim of the research is to study the characteristics of etiquette formulas and cliche in the diplomatic discourse in the translation-related aspect.
