The purpose of the work is to study the specifics of the translation of modern abbreviations in the English media discourse, as well as to determine the optimal translation strategies to ensure the intelligibility and adaptation of the texts for the audience. The theoretical value of the research will consist in revealing the peculiarities of the translation of modern abbreviations in the media discourse, and the practical value will be in the development of recommendations for translators and editors regarding the optimal methods of translating abbreviations in order to ensure effective communication in the media environment.
