Abstract:
This master’s thesis was devoted to the topic of translation research with the help of automated translation systems DeepL and Google Translate, as well as conducting a comparative analysis of quality and stylistic correspondence. In the course of the work, the key terminology related to the topic of machine translation, stages of development, the study of the concept of linear translation, and the problems of typical and specific errors that occur during translation activities were described and analyzed. A study of functionality and technical features was also conducted. An analysis of 100 text fragments was also carried out for the purpose of researching the translation capabilities of the mobile and computer versions of DeepL and Google Translate. An analysis of translation techniques and transformations (lexical, grammatical, lexical and grammatical) that were used during the translation of selected text fragments was also performed.
